Khloe Ilene is HERE!!!
Khloe Ilene decided to make her grand appearance right on time. She was born Monday, July 26th, 2010, at 3:05 a.m. I am so glad that I didn't have to have the amnio that morning!
So here's the scoop on the birth..... I started having contractions while playing the Wii at mom's house at about 7pm. I figured it was just like the last few nights and would just go away after a few hours well, much to my surprise, they did not only not go away but picked up to be about 5 minutes apart by 9pm. I called the doctors office and just so happened one of my favorite OB's called me back and said to come in! Due to my previous fast labors she didn't want to take any chances. (much to my surprise this labor was not going to be as quick)
I got to the hospital around 10pm. They monitored my contractions to find they were regular and getting closer together. They checked me and I was 3cm dilated. (I couldn't believe after my last pregnancy that I was almost 37 weeks pregnant and only 3cm dilated) Because I was 36 weeks 6 days pregnant they waited to break my water until after 12am to ensure that I would not deliver prematurely because 37 weeks is considered full term!
At around 11:15pm I got my first epidural! Baby #5 was good to me! It was a much different experience to have a baby with an epidural. The doctor came in to check me a little after 12am and I was 4 to 5cm and she broke my water. It was a slow labor (for me anyway). She was born at 3:05am, July 26, 2010, weighing in at 6lb. 11oz. and 18 1/2in. long.
When Khloe was born they took her blood sugar due to my gestational diabetes to find out her blood sugar was 33 which is extremely low. They took her to feed her and watch her blood sugars. She was finally brought to me at around 7am to find that everything was great! Her blood sugars had stabilized and she was ready to eat again! Day 1 with Khloe went great! That night she began to spit up allot and was crying allot when she spit up. They ran some tests overnight and came to the conclusions that they thought she had acid reflux. So she doesn't lay flat but has not had to be put on medicine. She has not spit up much since we left the hospital nor have we had anymore issues so hopefully we have resolved the issue and this will not be an issue in the future.
Khloe was released from the hospital with me on Tuesday, July 27 at 10am!
Here is a picture of Khloe ready to come home from the hospital!
